Suspense

The first key element in any suspense story is prediction. It consists of little insights along the way to start to add-up by the end. It is what builds up the keenness among the readers.

The driving force in the suspense short stories is the constant anticipation of what will happen and when.

A good writer knows how to keep the readers hooked till last by consistently giving little insight doses. Readers are captivated by the story as it advances further.

The more the anxiety is created in the suspense, the more it brings interest in the reader’s mind. The purpose of using this type of anxiety in stories is to make readers more attached to the characters and the plot. This helps in creating different type of moods like: anger, sympathy, affection, and so on.

Short suspense stories have the element of both: the fiction and the reality which makes the readers uncertain about the outcome. The more tightly the suspense is created, the more it sends shiver down the spine of the readers, and thus, the more it will be enjoyed by them.

Therefore, the writers deliberately create scenarios that forces the reader to comprehend the situation and read on to see what their favorite character faces next.
